Introduce Yourself
Hello everyone. Dropped my first batch of wort in the fermenter yesterday. I am hoping to brew a lot of gallons of a lot of styles. I first got interested in brewing while purchasing hydroponic gear at what may be the greatest store on earth, Brew & Grow in Minneapolis. It has been in the back of my mind for years now, and now that I have finished college, it seems to be the time. Also, I am a biologist, and am curious to hit it from that angle.
1. I just started brewing yesterday.
2. I love all beer, but I am a fan of IPAs and Ambers.
3. I grew up in Minnesota, but I live in Los Angeles now. What is up with an LA brewers association or something?
Started - 2/4/07 with a Mr. Beer kit & upgraded to carboys.
Favorite - Stout & Raspberry Wheat.
Location - The Plains of Central Kansas.
Great website; very helpful! ![]()

Hello!
I'm Justin and I've been brewing for almost a year now. My wife and I decided to buy a brewing kit as our anniversary (which is on St. Patty's Day btw) gift last year. I do the the majority of the brewing and my wife mostly helps with recipe ideas and bottling. We are from Salem, VA. I am a computer programmer and my wife is a stay at home mom with our 2 boys.
We have been extract brewing for the past year but have just bought equipment to move to all grain so I'm looking forward to making that leap hopefully this weekend - weather permitting. This site has been very helpful in preparing to make that leap, so thanks to all.
Thought I'd jump on board here 27 pages later and introduce myself.
Just started brewing a week ago. Just syphoned off my first batch into my secondary container and was looking around the web for recipes/advice/etc. when I found this board.
Fave beer style is stouts and porters. (Love the Malt)
As my name implies I'm from Atlanta.
Hello. I started "brewing" back in highschool. I bought two of the Mr. Beer kits and would fill up two liter soda bottles for weekend parties. I just recently got back into it and have started all grain (my first batch, corn ale, is fermenting right now) I have a chocolate cherry stout on tap. I live in San Diego, but I'm originally from Phoenix. My favorite beer style is a tie between hefeweizen and stouts.
Hello, I am James from Maryland and I have been brewing about a week. As my name implies, I am the father of twins (2 1/2 years old). Most of my brewing to date has been after they go down for the evening. My favorite style of beers are porters, stoudts and IPAs. I am currently fermenting my first batch ever (an english pale ale) and I have my fingers crossed.
Hi all, i have only been brewing for a couple of months and so far one successful batch of coopers mexican lager.
The reason i started brewing is because a friend of mine fetched a couple of bottles around to mine for a poker night....... i was really shocked with the quality and taste of the brew he brought, brewfirm tripple, the last time i had tasted homebrewed beer was about 10 years ago and it was nasty! this stuff however was probably the best i have tasted!
currently maturing in my airing cupboard is 20 bottles of brewfirm Tripple, i hope it will come out good in the next month or two (depends on my patience lol)
i am not much of a talker but as i find my way around and get more practise with the brewing i am sure i will find a way of contributing.
Thanks for having me

Ok , it's my turn........
I'm Greg from Wernersville Pa. ( Pa dutch country near the Berks-Lancaster - Lebanon County lines)
I have been brewing for a couple years now since I got sick of paying good money for so-so beer ( you know the type)
I figured if it sucked I had no one to blame but me. If anyone is wondering Zimny Piwo ( pronounced, zhimnah peevoh )is 2 words, it is Polish and translates to............................COLD BEER!!
Besides, what kind of Polonian would I be if I did not love and make beer?? I am following family tradition. My now deceased Dad who was a ww2 vet told me when he was a kid my Bachie ( grandma) used to make bootleg wine and some type of rum or whiskey during the depression/ prohibition era to help pay biils. She was a widow with 7 kids !!!! Ahh, the good ol' days ![]()
Well, that felt good. This is a cool thread, keep em' coming. Best wishes to all !! ![]()

My name is Dave and I have been brewing for only about 2 months. I have two batches of beer under my belt. The first batch was a "irish stout" kit from Midwest Brewing and it turned out awesome. My second batch was a Belgium witbier. This is carbonated but still conditioning. It turned out alright I think but was just different than I expected.
I got into brewing because I really appreciate the taste of a quality beer, and thought it would be neat to make my own. I have only made extract versions of beer so far but am looking at making an all-grain batch this coming summer. I live west of Minneapolis, MN and am waiting for warmer weather and a outdoor venue for trying all-grain. So far home brewing has been an awesome and rewarding experience for me. I think that it will continue to be a hobby for years to come for me.
