I prepared my first batch yesterday, a kit put together by the Phoenix, AZ homebrew shop I purchased my starter equipment from. It's bubbling merrily and I can't be more thrilled. I'm hoping to have my first homebrew on Christmas Day or New Year's Day.
My favorite beer at this time is Oktoberfest.
Well welcome all of you - be sure to give us an update on your brews!
It's my pleasure to meet all of you guys. I've observed almost all members here were experts in Homebrewing. And I'm very much thankful for all the knowledge you've shared. More power to all Brewers!
Hello All,
I have just started brewing. got my first wort fermenting now.
Its a kit...brown ale
I live in Alaska, just north of Anchorage
I have been wanting to do this for a very long time
hi all.
I decided to register this morning, after several months of lurking. I don't know what changed but maybe I will start to post instead of just read.
I have been brewing off and on since 2000 and have made some beers I have been proud of, but almost every time I brew I make a silly, head slapping error that I only realize after the fact. Maybe I should cut down on sampling the product while I brew. even with the goofs they are always drinkable and enjoyable, if not style-correct.
I mostly do all grain with the occasional extract brew, usually when a friend wants to see how it's done. my favorite recipes are british session beers- best bitter etc.
I gravitated to brewing cos I am insterested in all things DIY- just about everything is better if you make it yourself.
I hail from chicago.
cheers... David
Hello All,
I am a German trained Brewer and Malter, born and raised in Maryland. I trained and worked in Germany as a Brewer and Malter for over 8 years in 4 different breweries. I did my 3 year apprenticeship in a small, family run brewery near Goeppingen which is between Stuttgart and Ulm. It has been in the same family since 1728.
4 years ago I moved back to the states and was the Head Brewer at Long Trail Brewing Co. in Vermont. I now live in Maryland and am building my own home business.
My first homebrew was in college of all places which lead me to go back to Germany, I was an exchange student for 2 years, to become a brewer. I have been brewing at home and profesionally since 1993. My favorite beers are Altbier, Hefeweizen and Stout.
Looking forward to talking shop!

I have been brewing about 4 yrs now, love to brew porters and stoughts and love to experiment. Right now gotta a clove vanilla blueberry mead going and my next beer will be a chocolate stout.
My name is Aaron Molina. I live in Duluth, MN and Im new to brewing. My friend got me into it who has been brewing for 15 years. I like IPA & pills
I began brewing beer about four years ago and recently took over my Dad's backyard winemaking hobby. For now my brewing partner and have been sticking to extract with partial grain recipes. We feel we have concocted several good beers including: Chocolate/coffee stouts, lemon hefeweizens, red esb's, rasberry and blueberry lambics as well as a few spiced cysters, and meads. I have a hard time doing anything esle with my free time and both of us have big dreams of opening our own microbrewery as I'm sure many of you do as well. I'm in the process of starting all grain recipes and if anyone has any helpfull advice I would love to hear it. I am pretty stoked to find a site such as this one and glad to be a part of it now.
I started brewing in 1994. I took a long break in 2003 after my first bad batch (I burned the grains and foolishly thought that smoky flavor would diminish during fermentation; wrong!). Im just starting back. ...My favorite brews? I like Belgian farmhouse ales and hefewizen in summer months and IPA year round. I am from Massachusetts.
I actually just started brewing with a 5Gal kit... .so less than 1 year. but did run several batches through a smaller beer kit "mrbeer" that just cant compete with a 5gal min batch. Some were good some were bad. Just finished a quite Cabernet Sov.. wine kit.. came out pretty decent, light but strong alc... not going for a spring time beer.. possibly Blueberry, then another wine kit.
- Most beers i like are light, Mich ultra/amber usually but also like Sam adams "and not just because i am from Boston" it actually took me about 4 years to adjust to its stronger taste.
My starter beer was light centenial, but i have also tried a dark coffe similiar to a guiness with expresso kick. and a few others. (I've now moved on to more of a micro-brew only fridge)
