Lessons in Beermaking... Volume 1
A. "Stir 1 or 2 times gently" is -NOT- the same as picking up a carboy and shaking it back and forth 10 times.
B. When you find your airlock 6 feet away from you carboy the next morning, you might want to invest in a $1.00 blowoff tube.
C. Putting your carboy in a big plastic tub is decidedly a very, very good idea.
That's all for now ![]()
I second "c" for sure, a $5 tub that fits both buckets and carboys will keep you from having to buy a $100 carpet cleaner and smelling curdled yeast for days while the carpet dries!
Haha yes, will also save your ceiling from getting an unfortunate fresh coat of hops ![]()
don't sterilize your starter on the stove in one of your wife's nice pots for waaaayy to long as it turns into black tar and almost ruins the pot.
