Making double starter?

I am planning on brewing a 10 gallon batch that requires two wyeast packs, with starters, but I forgot to get the second wyeast pack sad. Could I make a 2L starter, wait for the yeast to do it's business, cold crash, decant off 'beer' and add another 2L of wort to get the yeast count I would need for the 10 gallons?  Or would making a single 4L starter in the fermentor with the single yeast pack give enough cells?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I think this is the better option

If you have the DME and the time, I think the best option is to make your 2L starter, then decant and pour your yeast into a new 4L starter. This will give you a much higher yeast count.

Hmm k thanks! I was originally going to reuse some yeast from another batch, but after I pitched beer onto a yeast cake and it didn't ferment (seriously wtf, the cake wasn't old either, only three weeks) and proceeded to become infected, I've gotten cold feet about trying it again.
