Northern Brewer Hops

Has anyone else noticed that Northern Brewer Hops pellets are kind or cheesy and brown lately? Even the freshest ones that come through my homebrew supply store are not very good. I wonder if that is due to the great hop fire.

 

I don't think any hops from the fire made it out.   Anytime there's a fire and the contents of the building are even remotely food related they are usually embargoed.  It might have made some of the less desirable stuff make it to the stores though if there truly is a shortage.  I don't think NB's were listed as being in that warehouse though.

 

The last package of NB hops I had were fine.  I had whole hops, and they were in pretty good shape with plenty of flavor and aroma.

 

I just got 4oz of them, but haven't opened the package yet, I hope they are ok. I'll let you guys know.
