Prime Bummer....

Yet again, my pursuit of a master's degree has yielded unfortunate consequences...
I came home from a long night in the laboratory and realized I had 10 gallons of brown ale to bottle before I left town the next morning. I rushed through the process and completely spaced on the priming sugar (I know, I know, but it was 2 am and I had been staring at a computer screen for 12 hours).
As a poor grad student, I am content to drink flat beer, but is there anyway to salvage it? It has been a week since bottling...Can I let it set longer? I also have a few screw-top growlers that I was contemplating dosing with the priming sugar; would that work or should I suck it up and save the primer for the next batch?
I'd love any advice, but please no snarky comments, I've had all I can take already!
Thanks!

I don't prime by the bottle so I don't know the amount but there are brewers that do and maybe they'll chime in.  Just uncap, insert remeasured priming sugar, and recap.

Try something like these.  Although they are out of stock, you might be able to find something similar.

Good luck.
Otherwise you might calculate how much corn sugar you would need for each bottle, dissolve that in  a small amount water, then divide the volume by the number of bottles.  Uncap, pour in, recap.

HoppyGirl!! Ugh!  So sorry to hear that.

I've had similar things happen and they are such a bummer.  I would probably try the carb tabs that Brewski suggested.  I don't see any reason they shouldn't work.  The extra work totally sucks though and I'm sure you are busy enough with grad school.

Hang in there!

+1 on the carb tabs. Coopers makes carb drops as well, which are a bit larger and usually only need only 1 per bottle I think, and 2 per 22 oz bomber if I remember correctly. Most HBSs will have these or the tabs, just pick some up when you get your next batch of ingredients.

Yea the tabs will be your best choice, they use 2-3per bottle when bottling so it should be no problem now. I also just had a similar situation. I was trying to brew and bottle
and keep my son and grandson busy. Never again!!!! I overflowed three bottles and capped
four bottles before I realized i forgot to add my priming sugar. Good luck!!

Great tips! Thanks everyone! I'll try to save them and let you know how it goes!

BEER SAVED!!
As I'm based in rural Wyoming and don't get out much due to financial and time restraints, we opted to try the 'add a little priming sugar' (suggested by Wild and Brewski) method.  My husband dissolved the priming sugar and used an eye dropper to add about 12 mL to each bottle and recapped.  He just called and told me the first two he cracked open were tasty AND carbonated! We didn't get around to doing this task until about 2.5 weeks after bottling; you've gotta love the resiliency of microbes, I sure can't go that long without food!
Once again, KB to the rescue! Thanks for the tips and fear not if life gets between you and the priming sugar! (Especially when your significant other is willing to undergo such a tedious task for the sake of the brew!)

Good save!

Excellent!  Glad it worked out for you.  I'm also glad your husband is such a good sport.  However, if he's not willing to save the beer, you might have to re-evaluate the relationship! wink  (joking)

Glad to hear it worked out for you.
