Suggestions for a Brewing Newbie
I guess I need help from the experts. I have been having carbonation problems with my beer? How can I solve this problem? Do you think adding some wheat malt will help? I need your suggestions.
what problems are you having with carbonation? bottling or kegging? what sugar source are you using to prime, and how much? what type of beer?
im sure it is something simple and can be solved for your next time.
Starter kit should be the first thing you get when you are just starting out.

You need to give us more detail Myca. That is similar to when someone with a computer problem tells me "it doesn't work." Uh huh.
As icky asked, did you keg or bottle?
When I used to bottle, I always used 3/4 cup of corn sugar for 5 gallons and mixed it really well, then bottled everything. Let it sit AT LEAST 5 days. That was the hardest part for me.
No, adding malt has nothing to do with your carbonation. The yeast is just eating more of the sugars, producing more co2 and alcohol.

Have you brewed it yet? How did it go? How did you like it?
Update! Update!
I brewed it a few weeks ago - I bottled this past week and am waiting for the recommended 3 weeks (I feel like the guy in Swingers). I did sneak a taste of the beer while bottling - it looks like it will turn out well (assuming the bottling goes well).
16 days until I can taste it. ![]()
