A winter homebrew swap, round 2?

So I guess Thirsty must be really busy with his new job, which is a good thing, unless it interferes with his brewing. I am still game for a swap if there is still interest. But I have to say, as my beer supply dwindles, the bottles that I have set aside for the swap are increasingly in jeopardy.
So if Thirsty is too busy, and if he is I totally understand, is there someone else that would like to step up and do the pairings? And if interest has faded we can always do one another time.
I personally would rather do one in march. But that's just me. Its not too far away. I dont have enough quality beers to deem worthy of swapping yet. I'll know if I do by march with my most recent brews which I have high hopes for being ready by then.
March works for me. Then we could include the community brew in the swap.
I've taken it upon myself to compile this list of swap partners:
Ruralbrew ships to Hogarthe
MadScientistMike ships to Hogarthe
Crabnut ships to Hogarthe
Bruguru ships to Hogarthe
Brewchez ships to Hogarthe
Thirsty ships to Hogarthe
Aspen ships to Hogarthe
if I missed anyone, they ship to Hogarthe. Now lets get that beer on the way!

This is probably the easiest way for Bruguru to get it right.

See, it's all about helping my fellow brewers. And some of you more cynical types thought I was just trying to get a lot of free beer. I'm hurt.
What a selfless act, going out of your way to help our shipping challenged brethren. You are truly a gentleman and a scholar.
Sometimes you guys just crack me up ![]()
Wow guys, I am so sorry, I totally, totally dropped the ball on this one. I could make a long story short, but....
So I haven't even been on this site in a looooong time. Why you ask? Because I haven't drank since Dec 31! Crazy huh?
It all started years ago when my buddy's wife's Uncle Gene told us about this crazy challenge he does every year. He reamins sober from new year's day till st patrick's day. He has been doing this for over 30 years. Every year he always tries to get us to play, and we say no f-ing way!
So this year a good friend of ours is having some major alcoholic issues, so to be supportive we thought we would show him that we can ALL be sober- it can happen. Ironically he is the only one still drinking, and me and my buddy are not!
So on the flip side, I got a date for my BJCP retake so I can try to score higher and move up in rank. What is the date of the exam? 3/17 St Patrick's day! This is a sign! So I will remain sober until the exam, however I do need to do a ton of studying again, and brushing up.
So I have been avoiding beer sites to reduce the temptation, (BTW sobriety is MUCH easier than I thought it would be, although I do miss my Belgians and special B!)
Now that I just signed on here, I COMPLETELY forgot I had initiated a commitment to another swap! So I am still in, if we want to decide to recommit to the swap, I would be happy to get back to monitoring this, or we could just ship all of our beer to Hogarthe.
So I would say, if you're in, recommit by Feb 17, and I will pair em up! If someone else wants to take the lead on this- go right ahead, although I would be weary of letting Hogarthe coordinate the shipping addresses- ![]()
BTW, I am never doing the Uncle Gene challenge again! F that!
good luck on your exam. and I vote for shipping all the beer to Hogarthe, but I might be a little biased. I just got a counter pressure bottle filler, so I can now fill bottles from my kegs. I am in the swap...
Good to see you here again, thirsty. Congrats for trying to help a friend, even though he doesn't seem ready to help himself.
Good luck on your exam, or should I say best wishes, because like most things luck has very little to do with it. It all boils down to hard work, studying and knowledge.
I guess I am in too, although I only have one beer to send. I have a Porter, but the FG was way to high and it is very sweet and I wouldn't want to send it to anyone. I probably should have dumped some bugs in there and let them go to work and made a sour out of it. I have tried a couple lambic brews and they intrigue me.
I wouldn't want you to be tempted to have a beer until after St Patrick's Day and your exam and I think I have a solution. Just send all your beer to Hogarthe and I am sure he will find a good use for it. Then you can spend time here and not be tempted! Sounds like a win/win situation to me ![]()
Sooooooo, St. Patty's Day is long gone.
And so to, it seems, is our thirsty. ![]()
Any of you MA guys know what's going on?
I kinda miss the old SOB.
Just sayin' ![]()
Got a new tablet
I'm back in the mix even while I am at work!
I would love to do another swap. If any are still interested pipe up and we can get some pairings going.Glad to administer it, and now I can be a lot more hands on with the site. Up till now I have been doing nothing but work, never having the time to come by here. Now I am mobile!
Still got some Belgian IPA and some Indian garam masala spiced IPA as well. Some aged treats in the basement too!
I'm up for a swap. I suggest we use the pairings I suggested a couple months ago....

Glad to see you are still trying to be helpful...............
thirsty - Good to hear from you again, I was afraid you had gone over to the Dark Side and quit drinking beer or something.
Looks like I am going to have to sit this one out, I have been lax with my brewing. I did a couple stovetop extract batches this winter but that's about it. My little keg kicked the other night and I am down to less than a twelve pack of bottles. So next time for me.
Looks like it's time for me to get brewing.
I forgot about that garam masala spiced IPA. I want try that really bad.
thirsty-
Whewwww!! scared me there, good to hear from you.
I've got several of my own, ready in 2-4 weeks.
And a few Boulevard "Tank 7" specialties.
Put me down.
