Lag time
Hi Everyone,
What was your longest lag time for primary fermentation to start and still have a decent brew? I got a smack-pack that was close to it's best before date. No action after eight hours in pack. Still pitched along with some slurry from bottom of keg. No action after ten hours, pitched packet of dry yeast. No action after another six hours, pitched another packet of dry yeast. Will see what happens
Regards!!!
Hey moises,
Are you referring to Mead? or Beer?
Beer,
the longest lag time was 14hrs. It was from a vial of yeast.(No Starter)
Then a couple weeks ago, we made a London Robusty Porter. I added a yeast cake from a previous batch. After about 8hrs and 70d, It never took off. I added another jar of Yeast cake and it started fermentation within 1hr.
Ya, eimajz this is for beer. Hope to get some action soon, ran out of things to "defribulate" with. I guess I could try some habanaro doritos and maybe get brew boy to trade some daddy juice for this.
Thanks!!!
