Low Alcohal Mead

I have heard about A low alcohilic mead as it should be have 9-10 % alcohal and in case of apple Cinnamon mead .is it ok and if some one have experiance about it then please tell me it will be my first mead ever!

Hi Michael,
Low alcoholic meads are called hydromels.  The alcohol level for a hydromel is 3.5 to 7.5%.  A standard strength mead is considered 7.5 to 14% alcohol.  If you want a lower alcohol mead use a yeast with a lower alcohol tolerance and it will convert less of the sugars.  Try a wine or beer yeast rather than a champagne yeast.
Cheers,
MzIce

Is there any such thing as no alcohol mead?
I like the flavor but I dislike the alcohol.

I'd like to taste any kind of mead, for starters. Does anyone know if it's distributed in Ontario, Canada through beer or liquor stores?

I've never noticed it there.

If you want non-alcoholic mead....i guess you would just disolve honey in some water and drink it....after all that is all mead is is fermented honey.
