Oak Chips For Mead
I was wondering if anybody had added Oak Chips to a batch of mead in the secondary. I'm looking to make a batch soon and was pondering if it would be a good idea/worth the effort. Lemme know what you all think.
never have before, but you could always separate a gallon of the mead and do an experiment. that way if it doesn't turn out well, you only botched a gallon of your mead.
Yea, I hadn't seen any info on the subject and I thought since Mead has more of the qualities wine than beer it might respond well to flavors of Oak. I think I might try the ol' one gallon experiment and see what happens.
