2008 BKB Fall Community Brew

dartgod was wondering if we should start this one now, i'm up for it, any volunteers for thread and recipe management?

I took the Summer brew off, and I'm not sure I could do this either....I have two brews on schedule now, and I'm dying to get my holiday ale brewed so it has time to sit...depending on what we come up with, I may try to squeeze it in.  I guess we need suggestions first.  This is a fall beer, it should be a little thicker and fuller than the last seasons brew.  Maybe an Oktoberfest Ale, or pumpkin ale.  Myabe a porter...let's hear what y'all want to make.....

I like both the Oktoberfest and the Pumpkin Ale ideas.

I'll count Bull as an Ocktoberfest Ale style vote.  I've been wanting to brew one of these.......

Put me down for the Pumpkin Ale...I've a couple homegrown pumpkins sitting outside just waiting to be tossed into a brew.

Also, just wanted to add that our very own Brewchez has posted an Oktoberfest Ale type recipe both in another post here, and on his own site, brewdudes.com.  I say if we go with the Ocktoberfest Ale, we use his version.  That way, we know we have a tested good recipe.  Not to mention, it's already in Extract w/ grains version, so just a simple conversion to grains and we'd be good to go...

I just came up with an All Grain recipe for an Oktoberfest Ale if we decide to go with that.  It's fairly simple with some Pilsner, Munich, and Caramel malts to give a good rich flavor.....simple hops with Saaz and Hallertau.......not an exact conversion of Brewchez's recipe though.....

I have a Porter in the primary now so I'm voting for the Octoberfest Ale.  I have a lot of brews lined up but I guess there's always room for one more.

Octoberfest.

Just sitting here today with only one brew planned out.  Went by E.C. Kraus in Independence for some caps & they had a dented can of Munton's Light LME, cheap.  Hopefully that would work with a partial mash of some other grains.
