Attention: Check out the new BKB Home Brewing Blog
2008 BKB Spring Brew Brainstorm
I got an email my stuff is being shipped so I should get it today or tomorrow. I wil ltry to brew it this weekend and I might be making a 4 gallon batch since I only have an ounce of hops. Local homebrew store is out of everything but crystal and some places on internet have more than doubled their prices of hop (northern brewer). But i'm gonna git er done!

i just wanted to throw this out there, i know we have a few people from eastern Mass and So. NH, as far as a swap would anyone consider a gathering at a brewpub for a swap?
Im in for a local swap.......There's a new guy on the boards. My brew buddy, I don't think he's posted yet, but he's in too....even if he doesn't know yet.......

How about the 99 in west spfld? Huh?
You guys will probably want to meet out east I bet. For real I plan on seriously starting my business plan for a microbrew pub in about 2 years ( I figure ingredient prices will have stabilized and can probably buy cheap due to the ones strugging right now). So my new thing is research. Friday I am headed to Strange Brew in Marlboro for the BHC drop-off and am checking out John Harvard's in Framingham, never been.
So with that I use every excuse to check these small places out for ideas and inspiration (and support the smaller guys is good, although Sunset Grill is great I figured I'll just end up ordering what I can buy at the packy). Anything centrally located NH, north shore, boston, gets my vote.
looks like i'm late
....
Have all on hand and will whip an AG up next weekend... If able.....This one is off on brewing ...
Had a drill bit "attached" to a drill go through my small toe from 2'.above.....Yup it hurt's ..and swollen as hell..
Gonna let my 2 secondary's sit another week.....
Not movi'n around much... But WAS able to restle in a fresh keg too the fridge....
So life is ok.....
Well maybee a wife too cook dinner
....and ????
Look's like i'm off for a few more days ![]()
congrats to ricka182, well done with the mgmt of the 2008 spring community brew, was wondering if someone was going to step up to the plate and start organizing the next summer or fall community brew?
Thanks. It took a lot of brainstorming, and many recipe ideas and submissions. But I think we got a good base for everyone to work off. Because of geographic availability, not every ingrediant of any "official" recipe will always be on everyone elses sheet. The slight variations while sticking to style and form, and now more accentuated with the swaps that have been going on, showcase homebrewing at it's best I believe. Being able to brew my own beer, and have someone else tell me how it is, is why I do it; aside from the true enjoyment of actually brewing the beer, and drinking it myself of course.
I say Thank You to all the contributors of the BKB 2008 Spring Community Brew. I look forward to the next community brew; which on behalf of, and also mentioned by Brewluva, leads me to this : Who is up next to lead us for BKB 2008 Summer/Fall Community Brew? Any takers?.......We can take a vote for which season to brew based on.
I'll vote for a Summer Ale. Anyone else?.....
im up for anything, start the thread
I would like to participate, though I feel I lack the expertise to moderate or greatly contribute to the creation of a recipe. Perhaps I will handle one in the future, but not yet. ![]()
I'd like to do another community brew too. But I'd like it to be a style we haven't done for a community brew yet. So come up with some suggestions amd we can go from there. Maybe have someone post all the styles that have already been done and then I will post some suggestions for the next community brew if you want. I'l lstart a new post for the 2008 summer community brew.
