Allagash White
Got it all kegged and bottled except Component #1......just had my first bottle of the Allagash Clone.....since I've never had it and took it from Brewchez that it was good I can't tell you if it tastes like Allagash, but I can tell you it's good
that's the important thing...... ![]()
Okay, I want to make this. I have some questions tho.
1) How big is this batch? The malt extract seems like a 10 gal batch and the hops seem to belong to a 5 gal batch???
2) I feel like a total newb with this question, but what's (flameout)?
3) isn't a "pinch" of any one of those spices too little... or is it a pinch of each?
Thanks, I am real excited about trying this one.

The extract amount is for a 5 gal batch. Read at the end of the first line...it's giving you a choice to make a total 6.6 lbs of extract...

Flameout is end of boil, when you kill the heat source, before it's chilled.

I would say if could be a hefty pinch.....
I'm sure some of the other more experienced brewers can correct me if I made a mistake.....RDWHAHB!
Ah, missed that line... thanks!
Finally tried the real thing.....it has a little more body than mine but I think the batch I made has more flavor......
I still have to try and squeeze this one in. I have a sack of pilsner malt that I need to use up, but maybe I want to wait and drink this next summer.
Decisions decisions....
For you Brewchez.......
Nice glass!
And now I am salivating at 8AM at work.![]()

Yeah, me too...in fact...I'm leaving to go get some now.....
Ok, this recipe seems to produce a semi-drinkable liquid however it's nowhere close to an Allagash White.
I'll let it age a bit more and edit my piost if the aging proves me wrong.

What is off? What spice did you use? I ask because I was going to brew this next week. What process did you use?
Wow this thread is old, but worth a shot here. Does anyone know where I can order the malt extract listed above? The 40% wheat / 60% barley LME?
Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, but I haven't been able to find it.
Thanks all,
E.
Most Wheat malt extract is actually a combo of wheat and barley. Just call some homebrew stores and see what theirs is. You might have to talk to a few people but someone will know eventually.

Great, thanks for the welcome and I appreciate the response.
I did see that this was a fairly common mix, but just wasn't sure how precise the mix's needed to be. ie. this called for a 40/60 and most of what i've found was a 65/35 mix.
Do you think it affects the outcome dramatically or no?
thx,
E.
