Any good 8%+ holiday beers similar to jubelale
Hey Crabnut, glad you had a good time. My group had the table at the window to the right of the front door. I'm sure we crossed paths; we got there around 8ish and I think we caught the 11:30 p.m. ferry home. I told some friends at work today and they are already planning to go with me next year.
I think the barmaid miss poured the Trickster on my sample tray because it was sour and very little hop aroma or flavor. I'll have to try it another time.
It is possible she miss-poured, or our tastes are simply different, or like mine, your taste buds were simply overwhelmed after all those hop bomb IPAs. By the last three tasters, I was really not sure if I could trust my senses what with the alcohol and all that bitterness. 
Man, I hope they do another Barleywine fest this winter.
Best bar in Seattle, it is. I just wish they had more options more frequently for those of us less insistent upon overwhelming hops.

It was the consensus at our table; what ever it was, it was sour. It reminded me of Duchesse de Bourgogne.
A girl at our table ordered a glass of it at the same time mine was poured, from the same barmaid, and she kept complaining that it didn't taste hoppy, just sour. It was her first beer. I tried hers and could tell which beer she ordered without matching numbers.
I know what you mean about hop overload (aka hop nirvana), but we weren't there yet.
