BKB Spring Brew!
Hmmm Altbier, haven't had one for along time
Does anyone have any experience with Kellerbier/bitterbier, the main example I can think of is Hövels.
I brewed a summer saison Recipe from Austin Homebrew with WLP568 last summer and It turned out great! Had a bunch of lemon zest and other stuff. Fresh and quenching. I will be brewing it again several times this summer. Never had the stalling problems and fermented at room temp (72ish) last spring/summer.
If we don't want to collectively brew a saison what about a Pilsner for those of us that can Lager? Still enough time to get it into bottles while it is still hot outside. Nice and fresh and hoppy.

Just throwing in something-
American Wheat - a beer best drunk young, can be somewhat hoppy, light, fresh, spring like
Eh!
Oops, my North Woods heritage just jumped out.
I vote cali common.... I've never had one, much less brewed one, but it sounds interesting...

Pick yourself up a bottle of Anchor Steam - the original California Common.
Alt or Cali would be doable while its still cool out for our non-tempcontrolled friends.
Alt and Cali common are out for me. I just can't get it cool enough to do either one now, the lowest I can ferment at is 68 right now. I'd agree with the American Wheat, but I've got an American Rye going right now, it's just too similar. I do like the idea of a Belgian IPA.
I'd go with the Cali, haven't done one for a while. Although I'd probably use a real clean ale yeast.
Hey Mort, maybe you could try the Cry Havoc, 68F - 74F.
I've never used it, tho.
Anyone else ever brewed with it?
What about a black IPA? Maybe do something similar to a Schwarzbier with american hops and a clean neutral yeast.
My vote now goes to Black IPA/Schwarzbier! With schwarzbier were you thinking of a dark german style lager, or can it be done with ale yeasts as well?
