Bollocks English Barleywine recipe

I was looking through my brew log and Beersmith files today and figured it was about time I started adding some recipes to this site.

Batch size: 6 gallons
Efficiency: 70%
OG: 1.100
IBU:  65
SRM:  15.5

19.00 lb Marris Otter
8 oz Aromatic
4 oz Crystal 60L
4 oz Special B
2 oz Chocolate Malt
1.50 lb Corn sugar

2.50 oz Challenger (7.0%AA) - 60 min
1.50 oz EKG (5.0%AA) - 15 min
1.00 oz Willamette (4.3%AA) - 0 min

Wyeast 1098 British Ale yeast

Mash at 150F for 75 min
Ferment at 68F in primary for 4 weeks
Transfer to secondary and bulk age for 6 months
Dry hop with 1.50 oz EKG for last 10 days of secondary

Notes: I finally cracked one of these open for a sampling at a Christmas party after 3 months in the bottle.  It was creamy, malty and had just enough bitterness to balance it.  Very nice and I think it'll age nicely.

This beer took 1st place in the Strong Ale category of the 2010 Boston Homebrew Competition so its definitely worth giving a shot if you're looking for an English barleywine.

Some judging notes,

"Caramel, toffee aromas dominate with a low level of earthy hops...nice level of fruitiness with stone fruit qualities"

"Caramel and toffee flavors sit a top a toasty malt backbone"

Actually, I have been thinking of an English barley wine to fit my slower brewing schedule and looking for something that will stand up to some age in the bottle.
So I guess this is now my recipe.  Thanks.

according to my calculations (i have been drinking tonight) would 12 pounds of pale extract and 3 pounds of MO just about do it for us partial mashers?

Just drinking up some junk a friend left over here.  They thought that I would like it because it wasn't Budweiser.   Not all "craft" beer is good beer......  probably should save some to throw in my smoker water next time I do a brisket, and move on to my good stuff.  please disregard any following posts as I plan on having a good evening.

Here's what I came up with for a partial mash grain bill:

Batch size: 6 gallons
Efficiency: 60%
OG: 1.100
IBU:  65
SRM:  15.5

10.25 lb Light DME
3.00 lb Marris Otter
8 oz Aromatic
4 oz Crystal 60L
4 oz Special B
2 oz Chocolate Malt
1.50 lb Corn sugar

Nice looking recipe FPB!

Thanks, when I brew it again I might try to replace some of the corn sugar with Marris Otter or maybe just increase some of the specialty grains.  Its good as is but I'm looking to add a little "something" to the beer.
