Cranberry Hefeweizen

Hey Guys,

I needed 5 lbs, but finding 5lbs of cranberries this time of year in DC is tough.
So, I ordered them frozen online, but the smallest amount was 10 pounds, so we have been making a lot of cranberry muffins, cranberry sauce, etc. Still have about 2 lbs sitting in the freezer.
Once I move up to Boston, should be easier to find, especially in the Fall.

Out of anticipation, I had to open one up. Although it could use another week or so to condition, I was relieved to hear a nice little pssst when I opened the bottle.
First thing to note was the prominent redness. Not a pink hue that I imagined, but real nice ruby red. I wish I had a digital camera to show the color.
It was rather tart and tingling on the tongue. The hops are very faint, and it had a thinner head than expected. Let's wait and see what it's like next week, and then I will change the status to corked.

All the Best

jonathan,

Sounds pretty good! I like Cranberries, maybe I'll make some of this for next Thanksgiving! "It's ok Dad, we can skip the Cranberry Sauce this year and get suaced on my Cranberry Wheat beer instead!" ;-)
Ok, maybe not quite... I'll still want Cranberry Sauce!!!
