Critique my Rogue Double Dead Guy Clone Recipe
I am working on a Rogue Double Dead Guy clone. Everything (to this novice) looks good but the color. Rogue lists the D.D.G.A at 25 Lovibond; this recipe however is 9.5 SRM.
2-row is typically 2 SRM and Crystal 15 is 15 SRM, and that leaves the Munich at 9 SRM.
Not sure where to get coloring right unless using Weyermann Caramunich II or III to bring the SRM up.
With that being said, would the shift from 3.3 .lbs Munich to 3.3 .lbs CaraMunich impact the flavor signifigantly or impart other desirable / undesirable elements?
Please critique the recipe and offer suggestions and ammendments.

Not exactly sure what you mean there as Munich (light) is about 9 SRM but it is stated correctly in your recipe.
Substituting 3.3 lbs. Munich for 3.3 lbs CaraMunich will make a huge impact on your beer. You may get closer to your color goal but you will leave a shit ton of unfermentables in your wort making it very sweet and cloying. Probably not your desired outcome. If you need to drastically increase your color and don't want to impact the flavor too much I would suggest trying Carafa Special.
Andrew, you are correct, Munich is 9 SRM.
I am trying to get to the same color yet it is off considerably.
Regarding hops. Per Rogue, the IBU is 60; however, I don't know how this is measured, Rager or Tinseth.
The same recipe with 3.6 oz of hops calculated in Rager requires 4.5 oz calculated in Tinseth. With 4.5 oz in Tinseth changed to Rager, the IBU is 85.5.
I am confused as to which calculation I should use. The bottom line is that I need 60 IBU.

The most commonly used is Rager but that doesnt mean thats what they used. Where did you get the recipe? That would be the place to try and find out what formula they used.
Through a lot of work and reasearch, I found someone that said he worked for Rogue. The grain and percentages and hops are from him. Hops are Pearle and Sterling.
Where I am stuck is how to get to my 60 IBU target. In other words, depending on which measurement I use, the hops and IBU contribution are impacted.
If I knew Rogue quoted Rager, then I would calculate it based on that.
Based on a Brewcraft Rogue Dead Guy kit, it comes with 1 oz of Pearle (60 min), .50 oz of Saaz (15), and .50 oz of Saaz (5).
The IBU in Rager is 34.2 and 27 in Tinseth based on 7.5 AA Pearle and 3.4 AA Saaz.
Neither reach the 40 IBU quoted on Rogue's website. Unless they are using a hop with higher Alpha acids than everyone else.
Seems to me that you are down to trial and error time. Try it one way take tons of brewday, and later, tasting notes and then brew it again. using the opposite method and see which one you like most. When I brew clones it takes some time to get it right. And even if a recipe isn't quite right it usually ends up being good drinking anyway.

The regular Dead Guy has Carastan 30-37 in it, I'm not sure about the Double.
