Dirty Water Brown Ale

got a package today in the mail, got two evals from The Boston Beer Compay on my beer, scored a 27 and 28, and they sent a longshot t-shirt!!

Congrats... I was a little late getting stuff submitted to that one.
But I'll have to give this recipe a try.
So, do you know how you placed in the catagory?

I heard from soneone else who also entered this years contest.  He scored a 20, and a 21. I forget what styles he brewed, but he mentioned you really have to make a wicked good brew, and follow closely the bjcp guidelines for what your beer should taste like, look like, smell like, and feel like.  I'm certainly going to try next year, even if all I get is a t-shirt or whatever...

Winning free shwag from brewing is always cool...
Bringing home the ribbons is even cooler.

one comment that was expressed between the two evals was that it needed more hops

I wonder how it would have done as a northern english brown then.

Outstanding (45 - 50): World-class example of style
Excellent (38 - 44): Exemplifies style well, requires minor fine-tuning
Very Good (30 - 37): Generally within style parameters, some minor flaws
Good (21 - 29): Misses the mark on style and/or minor flaws
Fair (14 - 20): Off flavors, aromas or major style deficiencies
Problematic (0 - 13): Major off flavors and aromas dominate
