With Brewchez' prompting I've decided to come out my shell a little and share this recipe. Hope you like!
Gray P.A.
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.0 gallons
Color: 13 HCU (~9 SRM)
Bitterness: 34 IBU
OG: 1.051 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Grain: 12 oz. American crystal 20L
4 oz. British crystal 50-60L
Boil: 60 minutes Boil Grav: 1.102 Boil Size: 2.5 gallons
4 lb. Light malt extract
8 oz. Rice extract
1 lb. 11 oz. Light dry malt extract
Hops: .5 oz. Cascade (4.2% AA, 60 min.)
.4 oz. Chinook (11.2% AA, 45 min.)
.25 oz. Liberty (4% AA, 30 min.)
.25 oz. Cascade (4.2% AA, 30 min.)
.25 oz. Amarillo (8.9% AA, 15 min.)
.25 oz. Chinook (11.2% AA, 15 min.)
.25 oz. Amarillo (aroma)
.25 oz. Cascade (aroma)
.25 oz. Chinook (aroma)
I used Safale's Chico strain (Safale US-56) but will probably use a comparable liquid yeast next time.
There it is. Pretty simple. And I'm kinda proud of it. My first competition entry and it gained me a score of 34.3 and got me a mini-BOS nod. Maybe I'll update later with any mods but I think it's pretty good as it is. Hope you do too.
I should try this actually. I have never done something with a "fun" hopping schedule like that and I am looking for an American Pale Ale sort of thing.
I have also been wanting to do an extract recipe again...you know let the mash-tun sit one out.

DJgray - this looks good. I may have to add this to the list. I haven't played much with chinook hops. Looks like a fun recipe.
