finally warm blond ale

Needed a lawnmower beer for the up coming club meeting at my place.

15lb american 2-row
4lb marris otter
1lb crystal 10
1lb carapils
1lb honey malt

2.25 oz mt hood for 60
1 oz german tradition for 10

Og ~ 1.052
IBU ~ 24

Have half at 62 with US-05 and half (5gallons) at 50 with 2308 munich lager.  Thought it'd make a fun split batch.  Just finished cleaning the pots about an hour ago on this beautiful 80 degree day.

That looks nice.
I'm doing a similar, lawnmower partial extract tomorrow.
3.3# Pale LME
2# Pale 2 Row
1# Red Wheat
1# Unmalted Barley
1# Honey
1oz Mt Hood (60min)
.3 oz    " (30 min)
.2 oz    " (10min)
Saf 04 Yeast.

OG  1.048
IBU  23
ABV  4.4%

Should ferment fast & clean with the Saf 04, then into the keg.

Think I could pull this off, drinkable, in a week & a half?

Sure thing.  I think it would taste better after a couple of weeks, but with the low hopping and no roasted malts, a lot of mellowing isn't necessary.

I'd love to hear the tasting differences between the cool US-05 ferment and the lager yeast profile.
Keep us posted.

My wife's big birthday party is the weekend of the 30th.
I almost have my 5 faucet jockey box done.
I'm trying to have 5 kegs on the jockey box & 2 inside in the beer fridge.
My total capacity, full, carbed & drinkable.  Unless I get into some of it.
Well, hell, I've got to test 'em don't I, wink just to make sure it's right.

Hey Brewski, is that Honey malt or Honey? Looks good, I might brew it this weekend and have it ready for Lake Week trip at end of june. I want to have 3 beers going with me. Already have an irish brown (suppose to be red, too dark), pub bitter, and wanted to make stout again but might not be able to get stuff in time so this beer looks like it would fit the bill. I have a raspberry ale that's going with me too along with elderberry wine, and pomigranite/blueberry wine. Lots of family will be there so it will go fast.
Hell I might even make a 5th batch and keg it. LOL.

Yeah, light clover honey.  I didn't really want a "honey" kick to this one, so I did a full 60 min boil on it.
Ended up, I didn't have any Saf-04, so I used Danstar Nottingham, supposed to be fast fermenting, & high flocculation.  It's in the fermenter now.

Had a great day, got a 7000# load of decorative gravel for $ 32, brewed this batch, finished up the jockey box, took my son to the airport- he's going to the Indy 500, picked up another ball lock keg & a new 5# CO2 tank for $65, sold a load of Southern Yellow Pine lumber- made $300, got the new CO2 tank filled, picked up a load of mulch, & now I'm HAVING A BEER. big_smile
