I'm back with the Yam Bam
Haven't brewed in almost a year, and almost forgot about this website. Thank god, we have reunited. I come back with a Bam. My last recipe (as long ago as it was) was all grain, and boy, was it a pain in the ass: learned how much fun a stuck sparge was... I just wanted to make some effin beer this time around. So boring old exctact in this one. Except I threw in some baked (with brown sugar) shredded yams in with the munich malt (or was it veinna? old ingredient, can't remember) to steep. It's fresh in the primary, yeast just went bananas.

I will confess, shredding the yams into thin strips and baking them in the oven with brown sugar did make some nice pre brew snacks.
I don't think I would have been able to get any of them into the mash tun. I would have just sat there and eaten them.
Welcome back
