Looking for Bavarian Black
Hey, I'm new to the forum. I was looking for a Bavarian Black beer recipe. Just came back from the Adirondaks and enjoyed the Saranac Black Forest I had. http://www.saranac.com/beers/beerdescri … F2827E194D
Thanks
Oh that black forest is a nice beer.!
I don't have a recipe but you never know what people on the board will come up with.
I'll do a little research too, I am intrigued.
its nice that the Saranac website gives you some details, it gives you something to work with when trying to create a clone
ok so after a couple days of research, I was able to come up with the following:
http://www.byo.com/recipe/337.html
Does this look like it might resemble that of the Saranac Black Forest? I thought it was a little funny seeing creme de cocoa and cherry liqueur
i've never had it before but i dont think thats the same, the recipe is prob trying to go for more of a black forest cake like taste, but i could be wrong, when you tried it did it have those flavors?
This turned out really good.....I used inputs and techniques from several different recipes and this is what I came up with.....
