October fest beer recipe?
Just wanted something I could start now and have in October. anything would be fine

Check out our 2008 Fall Community Brew -- Octoberfest styled ale. There's a couple recipes in there. Mine is towards the end on the first page and I can vouch for it. If I were to make it again I'd use a cleaner yeast and ferment cool.
I am going to bottle my Oktoberfest today and I want to make a cider next. Has anyone ever used the yeast cake from an oktoberfest to ferment their cider with?
What yeast did you use? I haven't tried it myself but I know some people use yeasts besides wine and champagne yeast to make beer.
I made a cider with standard english ale yeast last year and it came out pretty tasty.
I'd say go for it if you want to try it.

Mr. Beer sells a cider yeast with it's KTs Caramel Hard Apple Cider recipe....I brewed it in May and plan to drink it on Thanksgiving Day.
