Portlander Extra Stout

Hi All,

Probably not a bad idea smile I guess I did use 3 oz of hops in some of my IPA recipes! Not including dry... Yea. The IBUs are a little more in line now.
I want to keep a dry roasty, relatively light body and middling abv... so as dark as it takes, but about 6%, light porter body with brown ale drink ability... I hope that makes sense.
Should I adjust the malts anymore to accommodate?

Regards!!

Hello,

There's going to be some more changes to the malts... I'm going to do Toasted instead of Biscuit, and add some Crystal 20L. Also going to add the black patent back.
I've considered some Flaked Oats or Crushed Barely for some head retention, but these will also increase body right? I don't really want to make it thick, or heavy. I want dark, roasty, and easy-drinking.

ronald,

Wheat malt, Not extract, Not sure the extract would garner the same result. about 8 oz should be plenty. It is noticeable. I tried two atches back to back when I started. _Played around with some variables, and did notice a head difference with the wheat.

Cheers!!!!
