Problems with extracting clear liquid from mash
Hi All,
I can brew up to end of mash ok, but being just an amateur, what is the best way of removing spent grains. I strain with a stainless steel kitchen sieve, then with a coarse nylon cloth, then with a medium nylon cloth, then with a fine nylon cloth and finally with a very fine cotton cloth. Mashing takes 60 to 70 minutes until starch test ok, but then 3 hours minimum to strain it as above.
