Redeye?

I know someone who enjoys pouring about an ounce of tomato juice into a glass of beer and calls it a redeye.

I think it's okay, but I don't do it regularly. Does anyone here like that too?

I can't stand Redeyes, but then again I don't like Bloody Mary's or any other tomato based drinks.  Just makes me sick...

I donot think it will get some good taste hence i like tomatos but not in my beer glass i like beer in its origonall format and it cannot be left .
Feeling while having a beer glass is so preciouse to me !

I share your enthusiasm for beer on its own.

I've also seen some people have a splash of lime cordial in a pint at some pubs.

Yes its the habitt and taste which develops after some time lets say if i start lemon today with my beer after a some time i will use to it and it gives me more taste than the straight one

Sorry if I'm reviving an old thread but I'm fairly new here.  My dad grew up in a small town in eastern Washington (state, not D.C.) and the local tavern would add tomato juice to your growler for a nominal fee.  My dad (who mainly drinks dark imported lagers) will add tomato juice to his beer when he's slumming.  I normally drink microbrews but have found that tomato juice (just a little) makes industrial lagers (icehouse, PBR, Miller High Life, etc.) a little better.  I guess it depends what I'm drinking; I would never add tomato juice to a beer I'd brewed!

I have never heard of that exactly, but my bartender ex used to make basically the same thing except with some tobasco in it and used it as a hangover remedy.  I feel like he also called it a redeye but I don't remember for sure.  Just so you know, that is a basic hangover remedy.  I would like to start a string for hangover remedies actually.

I have a friend who puts tabasco sauce in her beer. Not all the time, usually towards the end of the night. She will also have a glass of tomato juice for a chaser. Tomato juice does make BudMillCo taste better but I still prefer micros or homebrew. I wouldn't put tomato juice in anything but a light bodied beer.

I can eat tomatoes on a burger, out of the garden, with a little salt, in chili, soups, pasta sauce,
in any food really, but I can't drink tomato juice at all,sad not v-8 or bloody Marys, so I have never had any in a brewski.
Most likely,never will.

I've seen people do it though. I know a couple people that swear  by it as a hangover cure.
It would just make me sick.
