Rice experiment #2

I need a bigger strainer (on order) for next time.  Even mashed in 3.5-4g of water it turned into thick mush.  I had to sparge in batches.

I GOT CONTAMINATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Dang it.  Oh well.... all the better excuse to guzzle it all tonight!!!!!!!

To tell the truth... even spiced, this stuff is pretty swell.

I've been following your Rice experiment and thought I would let you in on my own. Last summer I brewed a Light Ale just using Pale Malt and Rice syrup solids along with a touch of bittering hops (8 IBU'S) and a touch of aroma hops at flameout.....I used a neutral ale yeast and needless to say I took 1st with it in a Blonde Ale category.......my new experiment is to go a touch lighter on the Malt and Rice while still keeping with a 70/30 ratio and to use German Noble hops and the new VSS Rocky Mountain Lager yeast and see how close to a Coor's light I can get......it will be several months but I'll report back on how my Rice Experiment #2 turns out!!!!

Thanks for the info.  I will be making more in the near future.

BTW.... the beer is crystal clear in the bottle.
