Sangria?

Sometimes I make sangria with red wine, soda water and various fruit with some juices. I think this would probably be a good idea for when I end up with a bottle of wine that's not quite up to taste on its own.

Does anybody else have this strategy?

I have done this, but you need to do it with a wine that is still 'drinkable'.  If the wine is too bad it just tastes like bad win with fruit. smile

I have a friend that has recently made some blackberry wine that he was less than impressed with.  Personally I think it'll improve if he let's it age for a few months but he joined a yahoo group (I'll have to convince him that this is the place to be) and it was amazing how many different ideas people had to improve their wines.  Some people reccomended making Sangria, some recommended adding red wine and letting it sit longer and some even reccomended distilling it to make Brandy.  I'm new to wines but I know when I've made a cider that I was less than thrilled about I'd let it sit and then drink the first bottle quick because I knew the second woudl be a lot better!
