Shaking Salt In Beer?
During college, I studied in Mexico for the summer (which included much time at the bar) and there everyone put salt and lime in their beer. The popular beer at the time was one called Sol, and I thought it really improved the taste and complimented the lime.......although I am an admitted salt fiend!
Anyway, everyone was doing it so I did it too and sort of picked it up as a habit for a while afterwards. I havent done it for years, and I doubt it would be good in all types of beer (e.g. stouts, porters, nut browns, etc), but it can make a cold lager even more refreshing from time to time. :-)
