Source of your ingredients?

I usually just head to the LHBS to pick up my stuff, but that is getting to be a "planned" event since it is about 45 - 60 minutes from my house.

Has anyone used NB as their source for malts/extracts/speciatly grains? I see that I can buy my grains crushed already. I can get all the malts.
Anyone have any comments pros or cons of the quality of their products?

The only other thing is the yeast. I use the pitchable liquid yeast and would plan to get that with an ice pack. Again, anyone with any experience with that let me know how it turned out. Did it come still cool? Did it work? Do you use the "smack packs"? These I don't have any experience with myself.
Thanks
Jacab

I've always been able to pick my supplies at NB myself or have someone pick them up for me. I've always iced my smack-packs. I've never had a disappointing purchase from them. The last time I was there, I handed them a recipe from BYO for a chocolate oatmeal stout. And they got everything ready for me. I brewed that last weekend and nailed the SG. The wort from the test tube tasted very chocolately sweet with a very pleasing aroma. The guys at NB are great!
Thanks
Daniel

I buy all of my ingredients through NB and another big homebrew shop in the Twin Cities. No complaints. NB has pretty much everything I ever want/need and a good staff to match. NB is a popular and reputable place to order from, so you're not going to end up with old or spoiled ingredients. Buy with confidence!

Seriously, NB is probably one of the top 3 homebrew shops in the country that does mail-order. I don't think you can go wrong.

Thanks
Drew

NB is indeed my supplier of choice.....

i bitched on this forum 2+ months ago, and have several visits and a phone call since, that proved to me that they are not asleep at the wheel any longer. i did have a few months where it seemed that their focus was poor, but it looks as if that was strictly an anomaly.

i will be posting kudos for their action on the general board after one more good visit ( and it only needs to be about half as good as the great experiences the last 2+ months )
