Tulane Bitter
Hey All,
I can very easily see myself brewing this fairly often when I go to All-grain, or something very close. Maris Otter is Awesome, and I'll probably just go with Glacier hops or something'. I like glacier, and the best damned ESB I've ever had was completely glacier hopped.
Now that I can keg my stuff up, a good quick maturing beer is exactly what I need on my repertoire, and I normally load so much hoppy flavor and aroma into the IPAs I've brewed that they need longer than I give them!
Just out of curiosity, what's Tulane mean in this case?
That's the only thing I can figure...
I want to make a beer similar to the first Glacier ESB I had at Via Maria in Holland MI. Here's my review.
So I took SV650tn's recipe, and added some 60L and Honey Malt, and changed the hops to Glacier, and increased their usage. Someday, when I can do all-grain, I'll see what I get!
And as I read my review... I'm thinking I should use Victory instead of Honey Malt.
Best of Luck!!!
Hey wesley,
Although I love New Orleans and have been there many times, and love the girls that attend the university, Tulane is also the name of the street I live on. Since it'll be my house brew, Tulane Bitter.
I tried a more complicated grain bill for very similar ale a few weeks ago, and I could tell the specialty grains were unnecessary. I just simplified it, and samplings so far show it to be just as complex flavor-wise.
