Your Top 3

Hi everyone. New to the site. Been brewing a few months now. I would just like to see what you all like to brew on a regular basis. I now have brewed a double hopped ipa, mirror pond clone and a smoked porter so I don't really have a top 3 yet. Hope you guys can help me out on my next pick. Thanks in advance

1. IPA. I like to have an IPA on tap at all times.
2. Stout (cold weather) / American Wheat (warmer weather). My American Wheat is everyone's favorite (except mine). I love my Stouts, but can't polish off a whole batch in a reasonable time frame in the summer
3. Something different. Whether it's a Belgian or Brown or high gravity or some random experiment, I like to make an effort to try something new on a regular basis.

I don't know that this helps. You already did and IPA and a Porter. I have no idea what mirror pond is. But why don't you do a Dark Belgian? WY3787 FTW.

I also always have an IPA ready.  I live in Wisconsin, so with the weather cooling down and staying down, I "stock up" on scotch ales, oatmeal stouts, and my Imperial Stout, which is finally done (and tasting awesome).

Usually, I then have a lighter ale ready to go (eg Golden Ale, a simple Amber, etc).  My wife won't go near my stouts or porters, but she does enjoy the lighter beers.

#1 Something seasonal.  Pale ale, stout, brown, wheat.... who knows what it will be

#2 Something Belgian: farmhouse, saison,  or something abby-ish.  I generally don't have anything on tap more than about 6%.

#3 A selection of bottled stuff.  Right now IPA, Imperial Porter, Imperial Stout, Honey Brown and anything else I have forgotten in the back of the fridge.

What I would go for next:  what about a Belgian Christmas beer?  This is about when I brew a couple Christmas beers to set aside for the season.  The spices and such seem to do well if there is some time to let them settle in.  My next beer will probably be the Belgian Noel from AHS.

Good Luck

Something hoppy: an obnoxiously hopped west coast style IPA, hoppy American Amber or Wheat.

Something roasty: any variation of a porter or stout

Something seasonal: an easy drinking, light, crisp beer for the warmer months and malty and strong for the cooler months (Strong Scotch, BDSA, Barleywine, etc)

Three I always keep around???  Three you say?  Good grief.  I have enough trouble staying far enough ahead of my brewing schedule to keep two kegs going.

I haven't wandered away from keeping at least one keg of Bruguru's Mack and Jack Amber available as much as possible.  Wish I could identify a second and third, but haven't really done enough brews to get that precise.  Just have to keep working on it.  I'll get back to you on it in a couple of years or so.

1. Oatmeal Stout
2. American Cream Ale
3. Ordinary Bitter

#1 - IPA

#2 - APA

#3 - ESB

I have only made the same beer multiple times with one beer, cream ale.  That one my freinds like, so I try to keep it.  I'm definitely going to do Mack and Jack's African Amber again though.

if you're looking for ideas on your next brew, try the Mack and Jacks, the recipe is posted on the forum.  Or you could try the fall community brew which is a coffee porter, also posted on here.

Im definitely seasonal as well.  In the warm months I like hoppy, clean light beers or wheat beers.  In the cooler months out come the stouts, porters and of course the dark German lagers.

Well, I can never seem to keep the Mac & Jack's around, so it's always on my list of "to brew soon"
I like to have a good American Amber handy.
Then a stout of some sort.
Wheats in the spring/summer
American Browns in the fall/winter.
But, yeah, Crabnut, keeping 3 in the fridge is damn hard.
Almost forgot, I keep a sparkling mead on tap all the time for the lady, our daughters, & their girl friends.

Sweet lists guys. Currently I'm not kegging my beers. Option is available wanted to get used to the process first. Thanks for some suggestions those will be tried. I'm currentley aiming at having 2 batches a week going.

Yeah, I'm definitely seasonal too, but my favorites overall ( my own recipes) in no particular order:

-Oatmeal Stout
-Cream Ale
-American Brown Ale

Focus on process and fermentation first.  Invest any extra money you have in temperature control for your ferments.  That will pay off big rewards later on in the hobby.

Good Grief.  Two batches a week?  Wow.  Two six gal batches a month is going all out for me.  We drink a mug every night with dinner, and even with visitors and an occasional party keg, that is more than enough beer.   Are you running a brewery?
