Carboy
A carboy is either a large jug, either plastic or glass, which is used to ferment your beer (or wine, or mead, etc). This is where your beer will spend most of its time while you wait.
Carboy literally means "large jug" (it comes from a persian background).
In general it is preferable to use glass carboys over plastic one's for the purpose of sanitation. See this thread on what's wrong with a plastic carboy for more information.
