Melon wine

Hi Guys,

Does anybody here have a recipe for melon wine?
I have a glut of jam melons (like watermelons, white inside) because they grow like bloody weeds, and have filled the cupboard with chutneys and jams already!
If anyone has tried making wine with rock melons, watermelons or other similar fruit, I would be very interested in hearing about their experiences.

I never tried melon wine, may be interesting. I imagine it would have a fairly 'thin' taste, due to the wateriness of the flesh. You could add grape concentrate/juice/dried fruit to beef it up a bit.

Well, there is a famous country song about Watermelon wine so it must be "doable". I'm with Andre in I would think it would be thin and also very sweet. Let me know if you here of a recipe!

 

I used to make a melon juice but I haven't tried making melon wine eversince. I'm curious too about the taste of melon wine?
