NEW TO WINE, PLEASE READ
so i have made a winekit wine (straw. merlot ) and it looks GREAT , really clear and about to be bottled.
and i also made a juicy juice straw/ban. and i added the campden tabs and pot. sorbate and then super cleer stuff and its not clear and its DEF. not stopped bubbling (still bubbling like crazy ) . Now how long is this bubbling supposee to go on after i add the pot. sorbate? casue the wine kit bubled a little then stopped , but this just keeps bubbling .
I/ve never added the potasium Sorbate but if it's still bubbling then it's not ready to bottle I do know that when you want ot bottle that you can stablize the wine to prevent any fermentation i nthe bottle by adding a campden tablet to the wine, one tablet per gallon and let it alone for 24 hours. The sorbate is suppose to do the same thing. Maybe it was bad. Was the wine bubbling before adding the pot sorbate? Was the pot sorbate powder form or tablet?
Let me know. I just added campden tablet to a one gallon batch of apple win and will bottle it after 24 hours. If you do use campden tablets crush them before adding to the wine.
DC
i added the pot. sorbate in powder like form . and crushed the campden tabs ..
and no it wasnt bubbling b4 i added the stuff..thats why its kinda weird
